March 2025: JobGet Gets Seasoned, Deel Acquires AGAIN, Feb Jobs Report and LinkedIn Influencer

JobGet Gets SeasonedHappy Friday, Job Board Doctor friends! A quieter week this week as we venture into warmer weather.

On tap this week, JobGet gets Seasoned, Deel acquires AGAIN, the February Jobs Report, and Do you have what it takes to be a LinkedIn influencer?

While you are reading, I am going to take advantage and get a Friday morning run in. Let’s do this!

Mergers and Acquisitions

JobGet Gets Seasoned

As rumored on the Chad and Cheese podcast, JobGet has acquired Seasoned. Today’s announcement follows the November 2024 acquisition of Snagajob by the Boston-based company. As described in the press release, JobGet continues to expand its footprint in the hourly job market.

Seasoned focuses on the restaurant industry, streamlining hiring processes. As someone who spent many hours of my younger years in the restaurant and hospitality world, I know from experience that food service workers are incredibly talented, hardworking, and under-appreciated.

Historically, this has been a less active segment of online job seekers, with lower and harder-to-convert performance metrics. However, with the success of quick-service hiring solutions like Paradox with Chipotle, this Job Board Doctor suspects JobGet is skating to where the puck is going.

US Labor Market Underperforms but Holds Steady

Last Friday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in February’s Job Report that the U.S. economy added 151,000 jobs during the month of love. While this outcome was better than the revised estimate of 125,000, it fell short of the forecasted 170,000.

Not reflected in this report are the 62,000 U.S. government employees affected by the Department of Government Employment (DOGE) Reduction in Force efforts, due to the timing of these cuts. We should expect to see those numbers in the March report.

As of close of business on Thursday, each agency head is expected to submit agency wide reduction in force plans and other cost cutting measures. Perhaps we will have a clearer picture of the impact by this time next week. Fingers crossed.

On a positive note, healthcare led job creation with 52,000 new positions. Leisure and hospitality also had a strong month, adding 41,000 jobs. The unemployment rate held steady at 4.1%, compared to January’s 4%.

Reality Check

🚨 Are you taking care of yourself? I have had lots of conversations over the past month and I can see that a lot of us are tired and wary of what lies ahead. So my reality check this week for you all, is to tell me what do you do to take care of yourself under times of stress and uncertainty? For me, it isn’t something I am great at, but my focus this weekend is on a nice long run, time with our middle daughter and her pups, and packing for Las Vegas as we head to Transform next week. Will you be there?  – I want to see you, ping me here.

Until next week,

The Doc
